SACRA commissioned by Now or Never 2023 - Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne

In 1923, a public design competition resulted in the grand architecture of the Shrine of Remembrance. In 2023, a spectacular immersive artwork commissioned by Now or Never reshaped the gravitas of this monument, tracing a line of its significance through our collective history. Luminous and awe-inspiring, SACRA pays homage to the memory of our antecedents.

Envisioned by Hungarian artist Laszlo Bordos – one of the pioneers of 3D mapping artistry, whose work has enveloped some of the world’s most renowned buildings – SACRA brought the Shrine of Remembrance into brilliant motion with a series of sculptural illuminations and projections at a scale never before seen in Melbourne/Narrm.
