Vivid Sydney 2012

TDC supplied projection and control equipment along with the expertise of our highly skilled technical experts: Olin Winton, Steve Cain and Lee Worthington, to deliver large scale projection on the MCA Sydney, Cadman Cottage and Billich Gallery for VIVID Sydney 2012.

We are very excited to be involved in this dynamic event which bring people in touch with music and the projections. Musician will.i.am is known for pushing boundaries in the integration of music and technology, his newest collaboration turned an entire building into a musical instrument for VIVID Sydney 2012. Check out the video footage here.

Billed as a world first, the installation allowed festival-goers to literally 'play the building' via a purpose-built interface that interacts with will.i.am's music and the projections of renowned Sydney artist Justene Williams, whose performative style is particularly suited to the collaboration. Using arm and hand gestures, the public can direct the artwork and rearrange will.i.am's loops and samples, controlling the tone and chord progression.
